Bikram Yoga-HOPE & impermanence

I have a lot to write about this today after my first Bikram yoga class. This record is about many things, but mostly about hope and mortality.

A few days ago my girlfriend's brother gave me a limited two-month pass for Bikram Yoga La Jolla that he originally bought for himself, but realizes he can not be used. I am very excited about going because I've never tried it before and I used to pass through the studio all the time since I took dance and zumba classes in A Time to Dance next. So today I went to the 4:30 am class right after work and find out what Bikram yoga. 2-3 years based on my experience with Vinyasa hot, I thought I knew quite what I was dealing with. Although I admit that it helps to know the position of the body and used to heat the space, is still far from what I expected.

Benefits of Bikram Yoga

What Jennifer Aniston, George Clooney, Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna have in common? They all joined Bikram Yoga, a series of 26 poses in a hot, 105 degrees of space in their lives to stay fit, flexible, healthy and happy.

"How Bikram sequence is set up is very simple, basic movements that anyone can do," said Loren Jay, a Bikram yoga instructor in Los Angeles-based senior. "And if you can not do it, eventually your body will be able to work its way back into the range of motion with repetition, breath and focus."

Class begins with breathing exercises the whole body, to enable the lungs to flush stale air, which will be completed as well as heating up body for the security and flexibility. Then lead to stress control and skeletal muscle remodeling in order to increase circulation throughout the body's joints and muscles.

"Bikram is really known for tourniquet effect where you restrict the blood flow in certain places and increase it in others," says Jay. "When the blood finally back after you get out of the pose, it helps release all the stagnant blood and less oxygen."

Benefits of Bikram are beyond obvious health and fitness benefits. It's also an opportunity to relieve stress and sustained focus. It's not just physical movement, but eyes open meditation.

"As soon as you start doing yoga, you are much more aware and present. Many people who come in and start doing yoga for a long time, their whole attitude changes."

Before jumping in, consider the advice Jay: Not all instructors teaching the same style, so finding a place that fits your personality. Do not compare yourself with the person next to you. They could have done for 15 years! And lastly, hydrate and nourish your body properly. That means beyond just drank a bottle of water before class, but maintaining a healthy lifestyle all around.

Bikram Yoga do it all, if you stick with it. Look for Hollywood celebrities healthy for evidence. Jay agrees, "That's what is so magical about Bikram Yoga, for those who actually receive it, it will stay with you for the rest of your life."

Sol Yoga La Jolla

La Jolla Sol Yoga is a wonderful studio around. Setting, classroom, and the atmosphere is suburb all.
The Vibe

The studio is just beautiful. This is a new place so everything is pretty clean and nice. Decor and lighting give the feel, very earthy comfort. I felt comfortable from the second I walked in, I just thought, 'Now this is the place to practice.'

Friendly atmosphere of the studio reflects the attitude of the instructors, all of whom are super supportive and friendly. I attribute my perception of the major studios to them, the people who guided me through daily practice.

Insights after a month of Bikram Yoga...

Nearly a half years ago I bought a Group on for Bikram Yoga in La Jolla with the premise that after I finished my class will have time to pursue other things I was interested in but never had time to try before.
